Early detection of blockages and leaks at an oil production unit

A production unit with wells, a separator and tanks, where the reading round was the only way to know what was happening on the ground.

The demo runs on its own: the cursor opens a unit, reads the sensors and corrects. You can also click any well, tank, valve or detector.

Shift log

A representative scenario, built from the problems we see most often in this kind of site. Exact figures vary from one installation to another.

    Starting point

The unit has three wells, a three-phase separator and three storage tanks, with pressure and level readings taken by hand, twice a day.

    Main problem

A well blockage or a gas leak at the manifold flanges only showed up at the next round, with hours of lost production or an undetected safety risk.

    Solution put in place

Certified pressure transmitters and gas detectors feed COA Petróleo, which shows the whole unit on a mimic screen and alerts within seconds when a reading strays outside the normal range.

    Key results

After instrumenting the tank farm and the manifold:

    -45%

time to detect a well blockage

    -20%

    site visits for routine checks

    100%

of leak points under continuous detection
