Situation
The manual round consumes time and exposes people to risk
Two readings a day means up to twelve hours without visibility into what happened in a tank. The production balance closes late and with a discrepancy nobody can justify, for lack of information about the interval between the operator's two visits.
Instrumenting a new point in a classified area costs mainly in cable, conduit and certification of the installation, not in the sensor. That is why twenty-year-old facilities keep instrumentation only at the most obvious points, leaving the peripheral lines uncovered.

- Level and temperature in crude and produced-water tanks
- Pressure at wellheads, manifold and separators
- Gas concentration, including methane, hydrogen sulphide and percentage of the lower explosive limit
